Hello, my name is Diana. I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with over 15 years of experience supporting adults, youth, couples, and families through a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges.
I work with individuals experiencing anxiety, OCD, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, life transitions, stress, and challenges related to identity and belonging. I have a particular interest in helping people understand the patterns that shape how they relate to themselves, others, and the world around them, while developing practical tools to create meaningful and sustainable change.
My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed. I believe therapy can provide a space to slow down, feel genuinely understood, and approach difficult experiences with greater curiosity and compassion. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, I work together with each person to understand what they need from therapy and what feels most supportive for them.
My clinical work integrates attachment and body-based approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and trauma-informed care. I have also completed training in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Mentalization-Based Therapy, and approaches for supporting children and families affected by anxiety and OCD.
A significant part of my professional background has been in the assessment and treatment of anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). I previously worked with the Provincial OCD Clinic at BC Children’s Hospital, supporting children, youth, and families, and have provided specialized anxiety and OCD therapy across other clinical settings. This experience has shaped my understanding of how anxiety and OCD can affect not only individuals, but also relationships and family systems.
Throughout my career, I have worked across private practice, community mental health, hospital, and employee-assistance settings. I have extensive experience working with immigrant, Indigenous, and other historically marginalized communities, and I value understanding each person within the context of their culture, relationships, identities, and lived experiences.
At the heart of my work is the belief that meaningful therapy involves both acceptance and change, developing greater understanding and compassion for where we are while creating opportunities to move toward the life and relationships we want.
I currently offer in-person counselling at our Coquitlam location, as well as online counselling throughout British Columbia. Sessions are available in English, French, and Spanish. I look forward to creating a warm, supportive, and collaborative space where you can feel understood and work toward meaningful change.
